We want to help our clients succeed with their choice of platform, that’s why we are presenting this method on how to find the platform that a website is using.
- Builtwith – https://builtwith.com/ – Built With is a website that helps users discover what technology is used to build a website. It’s useful for developers, marketers, and salespeople to find out about the technology their competitors are using, and popular technology in an industry, and stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends in web development. A Chrome extension is also available that allows users to see the technology behind any website they visit.
- Whatcms – https://whatcms.org/ – Just enter the website url and the website will try to detect based on some rules what cms/platform the website is using.
- Wappalyzer – https://www.wappalyzer.com/ – The best of all these I think is wappalyzer because it simply works. Find out the technology stack of any website. Create lists of websites that use certain technologies, with company and contact details. Use our tools for lead generation, market analysis, and competitor research. We use it all the time because it shows also other libraries that the website is using.
- Have a look on CSS and JS URLs – Right-click on the website page to the view source. You can search by keywords like: “wp” – wordpress, “shopify” or “/cdn/shop” is shopify, “versio” in css or js url in Magento”, and so on.
